Katie comes from a family of writers.  Her grandfather was a reporter for the Chicago Tribune. Her parents and brother all earned Journalism degrees and her sister has a degree in English Literature.

Writing is in the family genes...  

Katie earned her BA in Professional Writing from Mount Mary College and has never considered any other career.  She has extensive experience writing for the medical industry as both a technical writer and marketing writer, and has written for many other trades, including the printing and financial industries.  Additionally, she has written for such diverse clients as non-profits, quilting designers and online fabric businesses.

Katie has over twenty years experience with computers and writing programs such as Interleaf, RoboHelp, Flare and various Microsoft products.

Katie blends her business experience with a keen eye for creative skills and usability trends to deliver excellent and timely end results for her clients.  She is adept at not only technical publications, but newsletters, business letters, brochures/marketing materials, copywriting, meeting minutes and press releases.

Katie is active in the following organizations:

	Executive Board Member, Lake Mills Main Street Program, a non-profit revitalization organization designed to promote the historic and economic redevelopment of traditional business districts in Wisconsin
	Board Member, Rock Lake Improvement Association (RLIA), a lake association dedicated to promoting and generating positive action on issues concerning the preservation, protection and improvement of Rock Lake in Wisconsin
	Senior Member, STC (Society for Technical Communication)
